In 1875, Tiffany began experimenting with the art of glass. By early 1890s, Tiffany had opened his own glass making company in New York City. Tiffany, becoming widely known for (Martínez, 2017) his famous works of art, began to create various styles of glass work. “Favrile glass, iridescent and freely shaped, was sometimes combined with bronze like alloys and other metals…” (The Editors of Encyclodpaedia Britannica, 2019, para. 3). With the invention of “favrile glass,” Tiffany became internationally renowned for a product that was so unique (Biography.com Editors , 2014).
